Finally Started my PARIS SCRAPBOOK

Here are the initial pages.. these were layouted to accommodate both digital and paper scrapbooking.  This means that after these pages are printed out, I intend to add paper embellishments and actual souvenirs such as tickets, postcards, and other mementos of this trip taken in February 2005.  I’m trying to do as much as I can in anticipation of a return trip to Paris in November, God-willing.  These layouts are also uploaded to my member album in RAKScraps, the digital scrapbooking community I am a part of online.

Planning a Fall trip to Paris

Earlier this afternoon I was thinking I ought to finally begin my Paris scrapbook layouts.  Then in the afternoon, Alan confirmed that he will need to go to Paris for a week, right after Thanksgiving.

We had earlier discussed the possibility of taking the trip then, leaving the evening of Thanksgiving and me staying two days beyond the weekend.  I don’t have all that many days left in my vacation bank — and I am all excited now that it has been confirmed that the trip is practically confirmed.

I’m all excited and I’d like to get that scrapbook going before I go and take more pictures this time around.  Finally going back!

I dream of seeing Paris in the summer

I was sitting in my cubicle trying to get a few things done.  I was away from the office for a week.  Perhaps it was just vacation hangover, perhaps it’s just this yearning to go back.  I have Alan’s candid shot by the Champs D’Mars right above my flatscreen.  I just couldn’t help but wonder how those trees would look like all green and leafy in the summer.

One day..

Paris Postcards from an Antique Shop in New Paltz

Alan and I had gone wine tasting with some friends up in New Paltz (Click Here to see the related post in my other blog, Pinay New Yorker) and one of the things we did after our picnic over at Rivendell Winery was to go around the quaint shops in the Water Street Market.  I always like browsing through antique shops more so if they have vintage postcards in stock.

I managed to find a complete bin of antique and newer (but still “old” by today’s standards) postcards selling for 50 cents each and lo and behold, I found this batch of Paris postcards in the stash.  One of them (the postcard with the image of Mother Mary) was actually postmarked 1910.  What a find!
